We build monuments to remember.
Sometimes those monuments are clubhouses.
Find & Replace was a collaborative site-specific installation, a continuation of a dialogue that began in late 2012. That dialogue was about place. Nebraska was where I met Nora Louise Rolf and now it's what separates us. At the time of the exhibition I lived in Iowa City, IA and she lived in Denver, CO. Our experiences in Nebraska served as a catalyst as we built a monument, a clubhouse, to better understand a friendship split and divided.
