Action, Recalibration, no. 5: window renovation for the Ghost Room

Inspired by decay and preservation of environments, I bathed the Ghost Room in light for the first time in forty years. I replaced the boarded-up window frames with four 90 year-old windows recovered from the building. In a performance on the facade, I was harnessed to the rafters and removed the layers of plywood window by window, allowing the first light into the room. This project highlighted the room as a historical artifact, the original wallpaper protected by blackout curtains and the linseed oil linoleum floor marked off with velvet ropes.
